Les Arcs: Stairset Battle Tour Stop #4 FRA
Les Arcs: Stairset Battle Tour Stop #4 FRA
5 janv.
Les Arcs, France
Blue skies, great vibes and tons of gnarly tricks – these are the ingredients for a
perfect end of the year event! A total of 28 of the best French jib riders unleashed
their tricks at the fourth official stop of the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle Tour
2010/11 on December 29th 2010 at French resort, Les Arcs.
A record-breaking 1.000 spectators witnessed this TTR 2-Star event with clear blue
skies and spring-like temperatures. At an altitude of 1,800m, Les Arcs offers slopes
and obstacles for all skill levels, not to mention clubs, restaurants and other
amenities.
But once again, all eyes were on the stair set for this battle, and the French
locals – many shredding in only a hooded sweater thanks to the mild temperatures –
brought their best moves at a high level, including lots of 360s and hardway 270s.
The presentation was enhanced by two French MCs on the mics, supported by exclusive
DJs from Paris who brought good vibes and bopping heads all day.
When it came to deciding on the winner, judges at Les Arcs were facing a tough
decision, with two riders going head-to-head the entire session. But finally, first
place went to Pierre Rué, who landed his two best tricks first try in the final run
straight out the gate; FS360 to 50-50, followed by BS360 to 50-50. Next to first
place honors, this has earned Pierre a golden ticket to the Grand Final of the tour
at Nike 6.0 Air & Style 2011 in Munich, Germany on February 12th, 2011!
Second place went to Niels Schack for technical trickery including BS 180-sw BS 180
Revert and sw Backlip 270 down the Kink Ledge. Special honors went to a Faine
Raisson as the youngest competitor of the weekend, who proved that the next
generation of rail hitters is well underway in France.
As the second outdoor spot of the tour, Les Arcs raised the bar in terms of
atmosphere and tricks once again. So we are looking forward to the next high-octane
battles under blue skies.
