In a day and age when surfing continues to progress with the ‘above the lip’ mentality, power surfing has been put on the backburner. Almost a lost art form.
In an effort to instill these qualities back in the youth, Dragon teamed up with Taylor Knox to teach the kids a thing or two about getting back to the roots of surfing and using a rail.
In the first installment Dragon and Taylor partnered up with Huntington Beach High, Carlsbad High and San Dieguito Academy Surf Team. Taylor’s trainer, Paul Hiniker walked the students through different warm-up routines and training regimes on land, and Taylor instructed a step-by-step tutorial on improving technique and fundamentals.
Power surfing is not lost, and this is our attempt to re-instate it!
