Day One of the Copa Kitley GWA Wingfoil World Cup Brazil bursts to life for the final round in Taiba. This is the final event of the year on the GWA Wingfoil World Tour for both the Surf-Freestyle and Surf-Slalom disciplines. The GWA Wingfoil World Cup is delighted to be back in Tarifa (ESP) for the penultimate wingfoil event of the 2022 season, where 48 men and 15 women have registered to participate in this pure Surf-Freestyle event. The opening day of the competition period at Bibo Beach delivered the opening throwdowns of the penultimate Surf-Freestyle showdown of the season on Wednesday 12th October!

The opening rounds in the FreeFly-Slalom discipline at the GWA Wingfoil World Cup Denmark saw the tour leaders come out on top, putting them in pole position for wins in Hvide Sande. Spain’s Nia Suardiaz slipped up in the first elimination round of the day when she could only manage a second place. It was only a temporary blip and she went on take the next six-from-six contests. An overall victory in Hvide Sande would land her the FreeFly-Slalom world title, doubling up on the Surf-Freestyle...

In the men’s final, local hero Wesley Brito (Cape Verde) starts with a big wave score right out of the gate, followed by an air 360 to add more pressure on his French rival Benoit Carpentier. The action kicked off early for Day One of the Tarifa Wing Pro 2021, where we completed the full Women's Surf-Freestyle Discipline crowning our new winner, Bowien van der Linden. On the Men's side, Rounds 1 and 2 were completed.

The GWA Wingfoil World Cup had its second day of competition in Tarifa (ESP). Strong levante wind conditions allowed to complete rounds 1 and most of 2 for the men, alongside the women’s quarter finals. The strong wind combined with the top athletes created a brilliant display of freestyle wingfoiling throughout the day.
