The mens final was a showdown between two of the youngest riders on tour. Our current World Champion Malo Guenole vs Chris Mac Donald. Both went trick for trick, with Chris opening with a 7.43 point Back Flip. Malo responded with an outstanding 8.63 point Front Side 7. After four action-packed days in Taiba at the Copa Kitley GWA Wingfoil World Cup Brazil, the decisive heats in the Surf Slalom competition were on the agenda.

The GWA Wingfoil World Cup is delighted to be back in Tarifa (ESP) for the penultimate wingfoil event of the 2022 season, where 48 men and 15 women have registered to participate in this pure Surf-Freestyle event. The opening day of the competition period at Bibo Beach delivered the opening throwdowns of the penultimate Surf-Freestyle showdown of the season on Wednesday 12th October!

The action kicked off early for Day One of the Tarifa Wing Pro 2021, where we completed the full Women's Surf-Freestyle Discipline crowning our new winner, Bowien van der Linden. On the Men's side, Rounds 1 and 2 were completed.

The Ensis ENGADINWING by Dakine kicked off today and will last until Sunday, June 19th, 2022. The famous thermal wind kicked in earlier than expected so it was full steam ahead to get the Women’s Surf-Freestyle rounds underway and on the water with 10-11 hours worth of Surf-Freestyle to get through at this event across the men’s and women’s competitions.

The GWA Wingfoil World Cup had its second day of competition in Tarifa (ESP). Strong levante wind conditions allowed to complete rounds 1 and most of 2 for the men, alongside the women’s quarter finals. The strong wind combined with the top athletes created a brilliant display of freestyle wingfoiling throughout the day. Day Three of the Tarifa Wing Pro was all about the tow-in action, as we ran an expression session in the waves whilst the athletes and crew waited for the wind to arrive. A total of 18 athletes signed up to participate in the tow-in competition, and we saw some amazing surfing from riders such as young gun Malo Guenole, Titouan Galea from New Caledonia, Kane de Wilde from USA and Italian Riccardo Zorzi. Day Two of the GWA Tarifa Wing Pro saw the near-completion of Men’s Round 3 for the Surf-Freestyle discipline. Several attempts were made to start to the Race discipline today, but due to several changes in the race-course, the final call was made to switch to the Surf-Freestyle discipline to try and advance further up the competition ladder.
